B and B

B and B can have several meanings this past weekend! Balloons and Boating are the ways we spent our weekend. On Friday night we went to the annual balloon glow and the kids had a lot of fun! Campbell of course was very frightened by the fire, but he was last year too! We keep hoping that one year he will not be scared...until then we will keep trying! On Saturday we went boating with our family. Brian's cousin invited us to go boating with their family. The kids had so much fun that before we could hit dry land they were asking their Daddy when he was going to buy them a boat! You will see in the pictures how they are grinning from ear to ear. It was an awesome day for all of us! That leads us to dropping off the kids with the grandparents and heading to a real B and B (Bed and Breakfast) to celebrate our anniversary! After a hot day at the lake we checked into our B and B for a romantic night away from the kiddos to a sauna. Seriously, the air conditioner was broken and the thermostat said 84 degrees inside the house on a 102 degree day! By the time I used the hair dryer we were sweating! We ate a nice dinner and headed home to our own bed with no breakfast!

My Little Firecrackers

We started celebrating the 4th of July on the 3rd. We all piled up in the back of Brian's truck for the city wide fireworks display. We try to go every year and the kids love it! On the actual 4th of July we spent it with our friends. The kids had a blast swimming at their house, slip and slide and dessert. Then we loaded up for fireworks at our house. It was lots of fun! Emma Cate said, "It was the best day of her life!"

Graduation Day

I know it has been a long time, but now that summer is here maybe I can get back on the blog wagon! Life just got crazy this spring! I am going to post the most current events and then hopefully fill in the gaps with the big things that have been going on in our lives that I haven't had a chance to post!
So let's start with something big that happened on May 22, 2009. My babies graduation! Emma Cate graduated from Kindergarten and Chance graduated from Preschool. What a sweet day to see 2 of my babies graduating together. It sure will make a Mommy proud! I have included some pics and some videos of songs that they sang! It was so sweet! So sad to see them growing up on me!

Cowpoke Cuties

Howdy! Last Wednesday was the kids annual Western Days program at their school. This year all 3 kids were in the show. They have a catered barbeque lunch and the kids dress up like cowboys and cowgirls and entertain us with western songs. It is really cute and the kids really enjoy dressing up!

Cinderella Tea Party

As many of you know, Emma Cate will be dancing in the ballet "Cinderella" at the end of this month. So before the ballet, The Longview Ballet Theatre and a group called Piroutte put on a tea before the ballet to get all of the little girls in town excited about the upcoming performance. All of the ballerinas wear their costumes and the little girls put on their best dresses and arrive for a fairytale like event. Emma Cate invited her little friend Allie to go with us and they arrived to be greeted by the wicked step-mother (in picture above). They next were off to take their picture in Cinderella's carriage. As they entered the home they had their picture made with the fairy godmother and were given a pointe shoe. The other company dancers were inside to sign thier shoes. The girls had so much fun walking around getting signatures of the dancers in full costume and make-up. They sat down for a little tea party and then were read the story, Cinderella. We next went outside where the girls had a lot of fun playing games. All of the little girls in her dance class were there and they were able to get their picture made with the big girls. We had a very lovely time and Emma Cate has not quit talking about it!

The Big Four-oh!

You guessed it! The hubs turned the bigh 4-0 on Saturday! We woke up and had a birthday breakfast and then spent the rest of the day at the soccer fields! We had 2 games and pictures! After cleaning up we had a big birthday celebration at Papacitas. We invited all of the family from both sides and had everybody come! We also had one family of good friends come also! It was a blast getting to see everybody! They had a big banquet room ready for us, that was big enough for 10 screaming kids! Seriously, it was perfect so all the kids could come and celebrate the big day, too! I think Brian had a hard time turning 40, so I didn't do anything too mean! After all I will be next!

Show and Tell

On Friday it was Emma Cate's turn to take "Show and Tell" to her school. Ever since the beginning of the year she has been begging to take our 2 fish with her for this special time. The last time we talked her into taking Bogey (our dog)! This time she was determined to take the fish! So we transferred Rainbow and Golden to a plastic bowl and we sloshed all the way to school. I seriously wasn't sure if they would survive the trip (which wouldn't have been the end of the world), but they did and are still going strong! She was really proud to share them with the class! Maybe next time she will pick something easier that is not living and will fit in her backpack! What we do for our kiddos!
