Merry Christmas! (Part 1)

I hope everybody had an awesome Christmas! Ours was very busy, but lots of fun! I am so very far behind on blogging that I have made a slideshow of all the Christmas activities from this December up until Christmas Eve. This will give you a glimpse of Christmas through our children. They experienced Christmas in many different ways this year! We went to the tree farm and cut down our tree and brought it home and hung the ornaments. One weekend we went to the Gaylord Texan and went to the ice exhibit there and it was magnificent! The Polar Express train ride was also a highlight of the season! As we were able to ride the woo woo(what Campbell calls a choo choo) have hot chocolate, ride to the North Pole and see Santa himself! In the middle of all that the kids were involved in programs at their school and at church! I have also included a short video of Campbell singing Jingle Bells. Our little mess sang it for everyone the whole month! I didn't want anyone to miss it! He could possibly be famous one day!

Happy Birthday to You!

Our baby girl was born on December 18,2002. It was honestly one of the happiest days of our lives! We were so happy to get Emma Catherine here safe and sound. It is hard to believe that we are now celebrating her 6th birthday. She is our Christmas baby so we always try to make an extra effort to make birthday's special since her special day falls exactly a week before Christmas day. This year we celebrated on her actual birthday with 2 parties and treats at school! The first party she celebrated with the little girls in her class. Since she goes to a half day Kindergarten program, I went and picked up Emma Cate and the 4 other little girls in her class. Her big buddy, Allie, is now going to another school. Emma Cate was excited when she found out her school dismissed early that day! So Allie was able to meet us too! I took them to Barrons for a big girl lunch and then to have pedicures. It was a big treat for the girls and lots of fun, too!
After we got home and rested and unpacked from party #1, we moved on to her family party. For party #2, this year we decided to meet everybody in Marshall to see the Christmas lights and to go ice skating. We met at a restaurant and ate and had Hannah Montana cake, opened presents and then proceeded to the ice rink. The only problem was that it was a very warm day for the season and the ice was melting! No worries, the kids skated anyway! They were soaking wet by the time they finished, but lots of smiles and laughter in the process! I think Emma Cate had a great birthday! As you can see from the pictures she is glowing!
We love you baby girl! Happy Birthday!

Will it Hurt?

We have been out of town and the holiday hustle and bustle has got the best of me, so blogging has not been at the top of the priority list! However, I thought that today was a monumental event in Emma Cate's life so I stopped to share it with you! Emma Cate has not lost something this time, but gained 2 things in her ears! She got her ears pierced today! All of her little friends this year were getting their ears pierced on their birthdays, so Emma Cate and Caroline have been talking for months about getting theirs done. Caroline's birthday was last week and Emma Cate's is next week, so they decided to get them done between both of them. They both were very nervous, even a little white, but did great! Not even a tear was shed! I think it really helped getting it done together!

One Little, Two Little, Three Little Indians!

This past Thursday Emma Cate and Chance's classes celebrated Thanksgiving by having a feast. The feasts did take place on the same day, but luckily at different times. I am the room mom for both classes so that is why I have not been doing much blogging! We had a week of making placemats, organizing food, decorating, making indian outfits, pilgrim outfits and last but not least cooking! This year both kids chose to be Indians! The indian name that Chance chose was Chief Lobo and Emma Cate was Princess Love Bunny. They are such unique names! The feast was so much fun and helped us to remember the real reason we celebrate this special holiday.
Brian and I are so very thankful for our teachers and all they do for our children! We are also thankful for our 3 little indians! Happy Thanksgiving!

Gig'em

This weekend Brian and I took the boys down to College Station to visit our sweet babysitter, Jennifer. We had a great time eating out, going to tent sales, looking around campus, tailgating and the Texas A&M and Oklahoma University football game. Chance and Campbell loved getting decked out in Aggie gear. I had brought a brown shirt to wear to the game and very quickly looked around and gave in an bought a maroon shirt for myself! The boys had so much fun spending time with Jennifer! The kids truely have missed her since she has left for college. After all, Ennifer is Campbell's girlfriend! We all had an awesome time and it was an experience that we would not trade!

In case you are wondering...Emma Cate had to stay home for her dance class. We were sad to leave her behind, but she had a fun time with Grammy and Pops getting spoiled rotten!

Welcome Baby Kerrington!

On Thursday, November 6, 2008 our family was blessed with a new baby! Kerrington Paige was born at 3:08 pm at 8 pounds and 7 ounces. She was 20 inches long and is very healthy. She was born to my brother Chris and his wife Amanda. She has 2 big brothers whose names are Paxton and Bowman. Brian and I are thrilled to have a new neice and our kids are so excited to have a new baby "girl" cousin. Emma Cate is especially excited about there being another girl in the family! Chance on the other hand thought we were getting the baby ourselves. When I picked up the kids from school on Thursday I told them that we did not have a baby yet, but she would be here soon! Chance's response was, "Daddy better get home soon and start building that cradle so the baby will have somewhere to sleep tonight!" Oh how I wish it were that easy!
Welcome to the world baby Kerrington! We can't wait to meet you!

Dog Food?

Last week when we were fast and furiously trying to get off to school, Campbell decided to give Bogey (our dog) a little snack. He went to the kitchen and came back to the bathroom, where we keep the dog bowls, and was holding a box of cereal. I was busy brushing teeth and really didn't pay much attention to what he was doing until I looked down and he had filled up the bowl with cereal. If that wasn't bad enough, he sat down next to him and started eating the cereal with Bogey! I didn't know if I should laugh or cry! Needless to say, Bogey had a good breakfast that morning! It had to beat the dog food!

Halloween Happenings

Last week the kids had a blast with all the Halloween festivities. We started on Wednesday with the Halloween parade at their school. After the parade we celebrated two of the kids parties at school and on Thursday we had one more! They woke up on Friday and kept partying! In our neighborhood every year we have a hayride and party which consists of lots of rides around the block, pizza, cupcakes and lots of candy! After the party we all go trick or treating together. The kids always have so much fun! I've posted a slideshow of all the fun events of the week. In case you are wondering about our costumes...they all picked out their own this year! No theme, they are all growing up and have an opinion now! As you will notice Emma Cate was 2 things this year!

Fall, Football, Family and Fun!

This past Saturday night we went to a Bulldog football game. We had a great time with Nanny, Papa, Aunt Laura, Uncle Trey and Brooke. We also celebrated Nanny's birthday while we were there! Before the game started we went to tailgate at the stadium. The kids jumped on blow up jumpers, ate hot dogs, ice cream and played! The biggest hit for Campbell was talking to the police officer with his sirens and lights flashing! Chance was really excited to watch the marching band! Emma Cate just loved running around in her new cheerleader outfit, showing off her missing tooth and running around with her cousin Brooke!

What's Missing?

This past Friday Emma Cate lost her first tooth! She wiggled and wiggled it until we could finally pull it out! Granmom (Brian's Grandmother) has pulled all of her kids, the grandkids and great- grandkids teeth, so I thought it might be special if she pulled Emma Cate's first tooth. We went over there and as you might expect, she was a pro! It totally made Emma Cate's day and I think it might have made Granmom's day, too! Our little baby smiled all day! She was so excited! We reached another milestone with our little toothless princess! What a joy it is to be her Mommy!
